This position is a part-time 12-month faculty appointment (.40 FTE) with teaching, scholarship, clinical and service responsibilities consistent with the mission and philosophy of the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program in the School of Medicine at the University of Colorado, as well as accreditation standards as set forth by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). The qualified individual will have expertise in exercise science or exercise physiology, including both clinical and teaching experience that reflect these skills, along with additional experience in acute care physical therapy and/or neurological physical therapy.

The qualified individual will demonstrate experience in teaching, curriculum development, course coordination, student advising, teamwork, and scholarship.

Teaching activities including:

• Developing curricula and delivering course material.
• Exercise Science/Exercise Physiology
• Medical Conditions and/or Neurological Conditions
• Simulation Learning and Interprofessional Education
• Clinical Reasoning
• Ensuring the assessment of student learning outcomes in classroom and/or clinical laboratory settings.
• Ensuring the scope, depth, and breadth of course content, and maintenance of current records of student participation and grades, comply with program and CAPTE standards.
• Providing student advisement.
• Providing training and mentoring to teaching assistants and junior lecturers.
• Reviewing methods and teaching materials and making recommendations for improvement.
• Providing education at professional conferences, facilitating training for clinical partners and affiliates, and networking with others in the field.
• Traveling to other universities or academic settings to participate in learning opportunities and gain experience.
• Contributing to the creation of an environment that promotes growth, equality, and freedom of speech.

Non-teaching time will be dedicated to scholarly activities and dissemination as well as program and department service. Service duties include, but are not limited to, the Scholarship and Awards Committee, Clinical Lab Management, and other areas as assigned. Participation in clinical service is possible with program approval and CU Medicine credentialing. Attendance at meetings and educational events of the department and program is expected.

All faculty provide support for CAPTE self-study and annual accreditation activities, student ceremonies, and faculty search committees. Faculty may assist with student recruitment, interviews, and academic counseling sessions. This position requires flexibility for days of the week and times of day due to involvement in multiple courses and PT Program needs.

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado.

The University of Colorado School of Medicine Physical Therapy Program in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is home to three educational programs: the Physical Therapy Program, Pediatric Physical Therapy Residency Program, and PhD Program in Rehabilitation Science. The CU Physical Therapy Program has been consistently ranked within the Top 5% of accredited physical therapy programs in the United States by the U.S. News and World Report and is one of the first 25 educational programs still in existence in the United States.

Additionally, our clinical and research partners include the Rocky Mountain Regional Veterans Affairs Medical Center, University of Colorado Hospital, Children's Hospital Colorado, Craig Hospital, and Colorado Clinical & Translational Sciences Institute. In addition to the wide array of health-related programs and facilities offered at the Anschutz Medical Campus, a significant number of undergraduate and graduate degree programs are taught at our comprehensive campus in the heart of downtown Denver.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor, Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
