Role Description The Director for the new childcare center in Smoky Hill, Colorado at The Nest Schools will oversee day-to-day operations, including staff leadership, scheduling, and ensuring adherence to licensing and safety regulations. This full-time, on-site role located in Aurora, CO (serving the Smoky Hill community) includes managing enrollment processes, maintaining high-quality educational and care standards, and partnering with families to support each child’s development.

The Director will coach and mentor teaching staff, support curriculum implementation, and foster a positive, inclusive center culture aligned with the company’s mission and values. Additional responsibilities include budget oversight, facility management, local community engagement, and clear communication with families and team members to ensure an exceptional childcare experience.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in Childcare and Early Childhood Development, with experience in center leadership or program management.
• Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to build trusting relationships with families, children, staff, and community partners.
• Background in Education, including knowledge of age-appropriate curriculum, classroom management, and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to manage operations, including staff supervision, scheduling, compliance, and budget oversight.
• Relevant education such as an associate or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field; director-level credentials or state-specific qualifications preferred.
• Experience with licensing standards, health and safety regulations, and quality rating systems for early childhood programs.
• Leadership skills that promote inclusion, collaboration, professional development, and a positive workplace culture.
• Capacity to work on-site full time in Dundee, IL and maintain flexibility to meet center and family needs.
