ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENTEdgewater Elementary School is a wonderful Dual Language, Title I school in the Jefferson Area that serves more than 325 students from preschool through sixth grade in Jefferson County. We are a diverse school community that is culturally responsive and embraces restorative practices. Dual Language Education, in Spanish and English, is offered to all students from preschool through sixth grade. Beginning at Kindergarten, we offer 1-1 devices for all students.
These devices provide opportunities for our students to problem-solve, collaborate, and communicate.
In addition to Dual Language Programming, we offer a variety of after school clubs that are culturally responsive, such as Ballet folklorico and soccer. Before and after school care is available for students who need this service.
Our staff embraces collaboration, data driven instruction, and the implementation of research-based practices to meet the individual academic and social-emotional needs of our students. We have structures in place for Weekly Professional Learning Communities and Long-Term Planning. We offer job embedded professional development through coaching and mentorship.
We love and value our families and community members; many of whom are highly engaged through PTA, School Accountability Committee, and our volunteer program. We have active partnerships with both Edgewater Collective and Edgewater City Council, Edgewater Recreation Center, as well as local businesses.
