ARES is seeking a technical, hands-on Spacecraft Systems Technical Analyst to join an engineering team supporting Blue Origin and NASA’s Human Landing System (HLS) Program. The selected candidate will perform System Engineering analyses, including development of Hazard Analyses, Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA), and reliability assessments to support HLS element design and development.

This is a hybrid position with a preferred location near Blue Origin’s Denver, CO facility to enable in‑person collaboration; however, fully remote arrangements may be considered for highly qualified candidates.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct Hazard Analyses for flight‑critical systems encompassing both ground and flight operations.
  • Develop Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA) to identify, assess, and prioritize potential failure modes and their effects on system performance and safety.
  • Perform reliability assessments to evaluate the system’s ability to accomplish its intended function throughout mission operations.
Required Qualifications
  • Direct, recent and technical experience with spacecraft or launch vehicle subsystems.
  • Ability to review schematics, ICDs, drawings, and design data to evaluate failure scenarios, their system interactions and operational responses.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem‑solving skills for complex system evaluations.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with management, customers, and technical peers.
  • Proven time management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Commitment to achieving outstanding customer results and high‑quality technical deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience conducting hazard analyses, FMEA, or reliability assessments for aerospace systems.
  • Direct contribution to a NASA Safety Review Panel (SRP) or equivalent human‑rating certification process.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field, with 3+ years of professional experience in engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
  • Multiple positions are available for both experienced professionals and early‑career engineers.
