Plant Corrosion Engineer
Location: Saudi Arabia – To be specified in job offer
Work schedule: Full Time – To be specified in job offer
Responsible for implementing, supporting, and continuously improving corrosion management programs at Tanajib Gas Plant Department, ensuring mechanical integrity of all assets through life cycle.
Key Responsibilities- Implement corrosion management program and on-stream monitoring
- Conduct risk-based inspections based on API-580 methodology and approve recommended solutions for coating failures and cathodic protection
- Participate in Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) review sessions, ensuring all issues are addressed
- Manage water treatment program and recommend solutions to overcome challenges
- Review design packages and validate materials selection based on current codes and standards
- Validate corrosion controls, loops, and damage mechanisms frequently
- Assess feed composition changes and approve recommended solutions to assure asset integrity
- Develop scope and description of technology items; lead field implementation
- Transfer knowledge on use of coating, CP, corrosion inhibitors, and other corrosion controls and best practices
- Extract data, draw conclusions from monitoring technologies, troubleshoot corrosion problems, and address root causes
- Regularly review and update plant unit Corrosion Control Documents reflecting changes due to operations or modifications
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or Corrosion Science
- At least 10 years of experience in gas processing within the oil/gas industry, material science and metrology, NDT technology, and welding engineering aspects
- Experience running asset integrity programs at petroleum or petrochemical facilities
- Ability to write clear technical reports addressing technical issues
- Excellent presentation skills for knowledge sharing and business case presentations to management
- Solid experience with international standards and codes (NACE, ASME, API, ASTM) especially inspection and corrosion standards (API-571, API-579, API-580, API-570, API-510)
- Valid NACE Specialist Certification or NACE Senior Corrosion Technologist or combination of NACE Corrosion Technologist, API-571, and NACE CP level II
