Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical Engineer – Buckley Space Force Base, Aurora, Colorado

Position demands a Mechanical Engineer to support a high-performance team providing O&M engineering support to Civil Engineer Squadron at Buckley SFB. The role delivers subject matter expertise to facility sustainment and modernization projects, including HVAC, generator replacements, and new construction.

• Perform O&M engineering on mechanical equipment and systems in infrastructure facilities (utility systems, HVAC, etc.)
• Identify major failure problems or instabilities and recommend corrective actions
• Redesign or modify systems or components, prescribe materials and practices, and develop new calibration procedures
• Determine short and long‑range requirements for replacement of existing complex mechanical systems
• Serve as a consultant on mechanical engineering aspects of projects and provide support to trades and crafts shops
• Provide technical knowledge and expertise to assist with project and construction management, reviewing completed projects for compliance with funding requirements and optimal resource use

• Active Secret clearance (U.S. citizen only)
• BS or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
• Minimum 3+ years of mechanical engineering and design experience
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts, principles, practices applicable to broad range of facilities assignments
• Extensive knowledge of related engineering disciplines and jurisdictions over land, natural resources, construction, utilities
• Ability to adapt precedents or develop new methods to meet specialized project requirements
• Strong organizational, leadership, interpersonal, and customer relationship skills
• Proficiency with MS Office

• Professional Engineering license in any state
• Experience with federal, state, local codes concerning health, safety, environment
• Knowledge of DoD policies and procedures, contracting, and funding

Location:

Buckley Space Force Base, Aurora, CO. Travel: 0–20%.

Work Hours:

40 hrs/week. Salary: $90,000 – $106,000 (Colorado only). Additional compensation may include bonuses, commissions, sign‑on, relocation, short‑term incentives, long‑term incentives, discretionary payments for performance.
