Position Overview

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Level 3 Satellite Mission Engineer with an active TS/SCI with Poly clearance to work from our Aurora, CO location.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct mission/program specific real-time spacecraft/satellite flight operations during readiness, execution, and evaluation phases.
  • Develop detailed plans and procedures to provide maximum mission support in areas such as orbit dynamics, satellite performance analysis, command and control of on-orbit satellites.
  • Provide technical direction for on-orbit mission support, plans for critical vehicle malfunctions, and recommend alternate operating techniques to continue maximum mission support.
  • Provide failure analysis of the performance of the orbiting satellites via telemetry data.
  • Utilize system software to accomplish all spacecraft control tasks and recommend improvements.
  • Perform flight length orbit adjustment and daily special event studies.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of related professional experience.
  • Must have an active TS/SCI with Poly clearance.
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of real-time mission operations (SIGINT experience).
  • Ability to perform real-time troubleshooting and anomaly resolution.
  • Experience developing, operating, and testing modern technical systems.
  • Experience working independently and in technical teams.
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
Desired Skills
  • Experience with satellite operations and subsystems.
  • Experience with satellite ground control systems.
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal team‑building skills.
  • Excellent communication ability to work well in a technical team.
  • Systems engineering background or exposure to designing and implementing systems within large, complex real‑time operational environments.
