Systems Engineer
Onsite at Schriever Space Force Base, CO
System Engineer to develop threat model requirements and perform verification and validation (V&V) on threat representations across kinematic, radio frequency (RF), and infrared (IR) domains for the Missile Defense Agencys (MDAs) Threat Modeling Center (TMC) at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs.
Responsibilities- Develop and refine understanding of threat model phenomenology, including missile trajectories, motion, and signature characteristics
- Support research and development of Radar Cross Section (RCS) and Infrared (IR) signature models
- Translate and support stakeholder requirements to ensure accurate, high-quality model deliverables
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve automation, tools, and modeling efficiency
- Support MDA Ground Test Modeling & Simulation events by delivering models on schedule
- Work closely with Missile Modeling Engineers and Production Engineers to ensure requirements alignment and successful Verification & Validation (V&V) of models
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Active Secret Clearance required
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution and 2+ years of relevant experience (Or Master’s degree and 0+ years of experience)
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (e.g., CAMEO or similar)
- Understanding of the Systems Engineering V-Model, including requirements decomposition, verification, and validation
- Experience with requirements traceability and systems engineering processes
- Experience with modeling, simulation, and automation
- Familiarity with missile system flight characteristics, motion, and performance
- Exposure to RCS and IR signature modeling and thermal/heating effects on object signatures
- Strong experience with CAMEO or similar MBSE tools
- Background in missile systems, atmospheric dynamics, and trajectory analysis
- Knowledge of signature modeling, including countermeasures, debris, and phenomenology
- Experience with Optical Signatures Code (OSC)
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
