Role PurposeAs a Systems Engineering Lead for the U.S. Space Force, you will develop and deploy the next generation of Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) capabilities. You will create and execute system transition plans, collaborate with system testers, operators, and sustainers, and participate in transition planning working groups. Your expertise will support the acquisition and development of space sensing capabilities that enable a resilient missile warning, TISR, and environmental monitoring force.

• Active U.S. Government security clearance (Secret or higher) required
• Certain roles may be subject to U.S. export control laws and require U.S. person status under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)
- Develop and deploy OPIR capabilities for warfighters in the Space Force.
- Write and maintain system transition and sustainment plans.
- Work with testers, operators, and sustainers to implement transition and sustainment support strategies.
- Participate in transition planning working groups.
- Collaborate with government clients, FFRDC, and contractors to achieve program goals.
- Communicate status and findings to stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science.
- 5+ years of large‑scale USSF space mission and systems engineering and integration experience on national security space programs.
- 4+ years of experience developing system transition and sustainment plans.
- Experience with stakeholder engagement, project management, and communications.
- Knowledge of system engineering management and processes, including lifecycle integration, requirements development, analysis, testing, and integration.
- Ability to communicate and establish collaborative relationships with government clients, FFRDC, and contractor teammates.
- Highly motivated and able to work independently in a dynamic environment.
- At least 2–3 days per week onsite; meetings may require additional days onsite.
- Experience working with DoD and Space Force system testers, operators, and sustainers.
- Experience performing systems engineering, integration, and test on space‑based remote sensing systems.
- Experience with Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Knowledge of DoD 5000.01/02 and DoD systems engineering principles and policies.
- Ability to develop written artifacts supporting Space Operations TS/SCI clearance.
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science.
- INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional Certification (ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP).
- TS/SCI clearance.
Salary range in Colorado: $90,000 – $120,000 – $132,000 annually. Geographic adjustments apply in other states.
