Position Overview
Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks an Electromechanical Engineer (Level1 or2) located in Aurora, Colorado. The role involves computer hardware design and integration with a focus on power, RF, and fiber optics.
Responsibilities- Collaborate on hardware system design and integration ensuring adherence to changing requirements and specifications.
- Finalize or update drawings, support equipment moves, rack and stack of equipment, and integration of compute equipment into a shelter for deployment.
- Support system‑level testing and verification processes, ensuring hardware meets all specified requirements and standards.
- Utilize clear technical writing to document design alterations, prepare status reports, and develop design specifications and validation plans.
- Maintain a proactive attitude in meetings with cross‑functional teams, demonstrating initiative and professionalism while engaging with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Field supports may require occasional travel to support installation and hardware deployment.
- Level1:
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 0+ years of relevant experience. - Level2:
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 2+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree in a STEM field with 0+ years of relevant experience. - Active TS/SCI clearance at the time of application.
- Experience with hardware design and integration processes.
- Familiarity with power, RF, and fiber electrical signal principles and applications.
- Experience with complex system architectures and hardware validation procedures (preferred).
- Demonstrated knowledge of how requirement changes impact hardware design (preferred).
- Knowledge of electronic components and their applications in communication systems (preferred).
- Previous experience in a fast‑paced engineering environment with field support operations (preferred).
Primary level salary range: $76,200.00 – $. Secondary level salary range: $91,800.00 – $. Additional compensation may include overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and long‑term incentives.
