Project Engineer - Conveyor & Material Handling Systems

We're looking for a Project Engineer who thrives in a fast‑moving construction environment and enjoys working across the full lifecycle of industrial projects. In this role, you'll support the delivery of complex conveyor and material handling system builds that power essential infrastructure in airports, parcel hubs, postal facilities, and other high‑demand sectors.

This position is primarily office‑based with periodic travel to active job sites. You'll collaborate closely with engineering, fabrication, supply chain, field leadership, and customers while contributing to projects that span design, fabrication, installation, commissioning, modernization, and long‑term system support.

What You'll Do:

+ Lead project execution from early planning and estimating through construction, change management, financial tracking, and closeout

+ Support business development through customer engagement, site visits, opportunity tracking, and proposal preparation

+ Manage bidding and estimating including RFQ reviews, takeoffs, subcontractor pricing, schedule development, and risk evaluation

+ Coordinate planning with leadership, engineering, fabrication, and field teams to optimize resources and timelines

+ Maintain project controls including budgets, cost projections, schedules, documentation, and performance tracking

+ Administer contracts, purchase orders, change orders, RFIs, and all project communication

+ Provide field support through jobsite visits, issue resolution, safety oversight, and quality checks

+ Contribute to team development by mentoring staff, improving processes, and supporting training initiatives

What You Bring:

+ Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred

+ 0-5 years of experience in project engineering, estimating, or construction coordination

+ Understanding of construction processes including scheduling, cost control, subcontractor management, and change management

+ Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, contracts, and RFQs

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management/estimating tools

+ Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering, field teams, vendors, and leadership

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aurora, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $57.70/hr.
