Director of Accounting

Description We are looking for a highly skilled Director of Accounting to oversee critical financial operations for our organization. This long-term contract position is based in Foxfield, Colorado, and involves managing accounting functions, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and delivering accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities and extensive experience in accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

- Oversee month-end close processes and ensure the accuracy of financial statements.

- Develop and maintain budgets, tracking profitability and analyzing financial performance.

- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards in all accounting practices.

- Manage general ledger activities, including reconciliations and adjustments.

- Prepare detailed financial reports and provide insights for decision-making.

- Implement and optimize tools like Sage Intacct and Expensify to enhance accounting workflows.

- Conduct profitability analysis and provide recommendations for operational improvements.

- Collaborate with senior leadership to align financial strategies with organizational goals.

- Monitor and analyze profit and loss statements to identify trends and opportunities. Requirements - CPA certification is required.

- Extensive experience in financial reporting and month-end close processes.

- Proficiency in managing accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.

- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and general ledger management.

- Demonstrated expertise in budgeting and profitability analysis.

- Hands-on experience with accounting tools such as Sage Intacct and Expensify.

- Excellent analytical and leadership skills.

- Ability to communicate financial insights effectively to stakeholders.
