Member Service Representative
The Member Service Representative is the face of our organization and holds an essential role in delivering on our mission by providing outstanding member experiences. Responsible for serving as a financial consultant to members, conducting member financial profiles, identifying member needs, and cross‑selling and up‑selling. They attract, expand, and retain member relationships, contribute to the financial well‑being of our members, manage lobby and in‑branch member service interactions, and perform a wide range of sales and transactional duties upholding quality, service, and brand standards.
The MSR works with the Branch Manager and Assistant Manager to achieve deposit/loan growth, business relationship growth, and personal membership growth while maintaining current knowledge of competitor products, services, and promotions.
- Promptly, accurately and efficiently process member financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, cash advances, loan payments, transfers, wire transfers, negotiable instruments, and necessary general ledger postings according to policies and procedures.
- Perform account maintenance including address changes, phone number updates, travel advisories, and diary memos.
- Respond to member inquiries and requests for account information such as loan payoffs, balances, check orders, maturity dates, payment history, late fees, rates, and other inquiries in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Open new accounts, analyze credit bureau reports, and interview members in person or by telephone to identify financial needs and sales opportunities.
- Initiate computer‑based credit applications, analyze credit scores, and make routine business decisions; sell and cross‑sell financial products and services to members and answer member inquiries about products and financial services.
- One to three years of similar or related experience.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
- A high school education or GED.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Previous experience with financial institutions.
This is a full‑time, non‑exempt position with hourly compensation of $23.00 based on experience, education, and qualifications.
