Back Office Specialist

The District Credit Union | Aurora, CO (On-Site)

Are you a detail‑oriented operations professional who takes pride in accuracy, organization, and supporting smooth back‑office processes? The District Credit Union is seeking a Back Office Specialist to support lending, new account audits, documentation filing, collection communications, insurance tracking, and day‑to‑day operational needs that help protect the Credit Union's interests and serve our members effectively.

About the Role

As the Back Office Specialist at The District Credit Union, you'll be the backbone of our operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across lending and new account audits. You'll handle critical documentation, support member communications for collections, and keep our office running seamlessly. This is a hands‑on role where your attention to detail and commitment to excellence directly contributes to our members' success and the Credit Union's continued growth.

What

You'll Do
  • Monitor and audit consumer loans, real estate loans, and new accounts for required documentation, approvals, and policy compliance
  • Submit loan documents to appropriate agencies to help secure The Districts Credit Union's interest in collateral
  • Collect, upload, and track insurance documentation, including consumer loan insurance and Collateral Protection Insurance
  • Track automobile titles, deeds, policies, and related documents; follow up on exceptions and missing items
  • Coordinate with insurance companies and members on totaled vehicles and required documentation
  • Assist the collections team with member and vendor communications, repossessions, and cancellations of warranty or GAP products
  • Manage office supplies and provide operational support for the team
  • Perform other assigned duties that support smooth, accurate, and compliant back‑office operations
What Success Looks Like
  • Maintaining accurate and complete lending and new account files
  • Supporting strong compliance with internal policies and documentation requirements
  • Collecting and uploading insurance documents promptly and accurately
  • Tracking titles, deeds, and policies while following up on exceptions in a timely manner
  • Helping collections activities move forward through clear communication and reliable support
  • Keeping office supply needs organized so teams have what they need to serve members effectively
What You Bring
  • Experience in financial services, credit union operations, lending support, back‑office operations, or a related administrative role preferred
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to review documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Excellent organization and follow‑through skills, especially when tracking documents, deadlines, and exceptions
  • Clear and professional communication skills for working with members, vendors, insurance companies, agencies, and internal teams
  • Ability to handle confidential member and account information with professionalism and discretion
  • Comfort working with loan documents, new account files, insurance records, and related operational processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn credit union systems and document management tools

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or experience in business, finance, lending operations, or a related field preferred.
