Minimum Qualifications- Current, valid Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) certification
- One (1) year of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position.
- Current, valid Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) certification or ability to obtain completion of P.O.S.T. by hire date.
- Experience accessing and utilizing CCIC/NCIC (Colorado and National Crime Information Center data), Versaterm/Versadex , or similar law enforcement records management system(s)
- Bilingual or multilingual
- Associate or higher degree.
- Highly developed analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to quickly make decisions and accept responsibility under pressure.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Professionalism, leadership skills, and organizational integrity.
- Environmental awareness.
- Good physical strength and agility.
- Advanced technical and professional police knowledge, including knowledge of federal, state, local, and University laws, rules, regulations, procedures, and processes; law enforcement information systems; incident management systems; investigative principles and procedures; court decisions that relate to policing; criminal laws and procedures; and on-going interrelated knowledge in the areas of firearms, first aid, CPR hazardous materials, chemical weapons, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Experience using Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Current Colorado POST certification is required at time of hire. Candidates in a POST Academy are encouraged to apply within 60 days of graduation date.
