Job Overview
The Clinical Nutrition Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day oversight of Clinical Dietitians by leading team members in providing direct patient care; ensuring compliance with quality and safety initiatives and practices; and partnering with a multidisciplinary team in meeting the clinical needs of patients and families. This is a working supervisor that also provides direct patient care a portion of their time.
The Supervisor also serves as the primary clinical liaison with families and referring providers, facilitating exemplary customer service/responsiveness, assisting with complex clinical triage/new referral scheduling and other customer service needs. The Clinical Nutrition Supervisor is a working supervisor who also performs the work of Clinical Dietitian as needed. This Clinical Nutrition Supervisor will oversee the Formula Human Milk Techs and the Human Milk Lab.
This position will also have a 30-40% direct patient care component.

- Shift: Shifts are Monday-Friday, with occasional weekend/holiday coverage
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Leads unit/department team members in providing direct patient care by demonstrating clinical knowledge and promoting the application of the clinical best practices and professional standards in daily work.Oversees the admission, discharge, and general flow of patients; ensures staffing resources are utilized appropriately and shifts resources to meet both patient and department needs.Interprets and explains regulatory standards and hospital policies, procedures, and rules to staff and ensures compliance with applicable quality and safety initiatives and practices.Assigns and reviews work, provides work instruction (OTJ or formal training) and develops team members. Evaluates performance of team members, providing continuous feedback. Manages discipline and performance issues; hires and fires team members. Identifies resource needs and develops recommendations for meeting needs.Monitors direct reports in order to meet and maintain clinical competencies, ensure understanding of and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, optimize performance and efficiency of the workforce, as well as assist with continuing education of staff.Provides competent and timely medical nutrition therapy for patients with a variety of diagnosis, in an inpatient and/or outpatient setting as needed. Incorporates principles of culture-competence and family-centered care into clinical services.Provides appropriate education and nutrition counseling to patients and families. Participates in the updating and development of nutrition education materials as needed. Participates in education of students, interns, medical providers, and the community as requested and appropriate.Collaborates with the family, medical team, schools, home care companies and other providers as appropriate to ensure the continuum of care for the patient and optimal clinical services and outcomes.Completes written documentation of medical nutrition therapy provided in accordance with department standards for format, content, and time frames.Accurately and consistently documents and charges for (if applicable) direct patient care time in the electronic medical record.Demonstrates leadership by mentoring, training and precepting of staff, participating in planned professional development, and encouraging commitment, responsibility, and accountability of each staff member.Provides patient care with a comprehensive and analytical approach, grounded in knowledge, experience, critical thinking and expertise in clinical nutrition, including proficient use of interviewing, education, and counseling strategies.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- EDUCATION - Bachelor s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or Master s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or other field.
- EXPERIENCE - Three (3) years pediatric or adult nutrition experience. Preferred quals: MS in Nutrition, CNSC, experience working in critical care or human milk lab operations
- LISENSURES:
Registered Dietitians (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN) - CERTIFICATION(S) - CDR certification (Commission on Dietetic Registration)

Pay is dependent on applicant s relevant experience. Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $78,659.24 to $
