Job Description
The Dietary Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the Dietary Department in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Stellar policies, to ensure quality food service and nutrition care for residents at all times.
Responsibilities
- Manage dietary services operations through effective planning and delegation.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating dietary programs and activities.
- Coordinate dietary services with other departments.
- Inspect storage and utility areas for upkeep and supply control.
- Review and develop correction plans for dietary deficiencies noted during inspections.
- Process diet changes and new diets from nursing services.
- Assist in planning dietary aspects of discharge plans.
- Participate in facility surveys and inspections.
- Interview residents or family members for diet history.
- Maintain records of residents' food preferences.
- Develop methods to determine the quality and quantity of food served.
Qualifications
- At least one year of supervisory experience in food services within a healthcare setting, focusing on management, diet therapy, and cost control.
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification required.
- Associate degree in Food Services, Nutrition, or Business Management preferred.
