Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Days

Pay: $59.80 - $83.72 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary

Coordinates and provides comprehensive medication management to optimize medication use for patients located in the surgical progressive care unit (SPCU).

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school of Pharmacy.
  • State licensure as a Pharmacist and any relevant life support certification and/or relevant licensure/certification as determined at position level.
Preferred
  • Completion of a PGY2 residency in critical care is preferred OR completion of PGY1 residency with at least three to five years of experience in critical care pharmacy. Board certification in critical care pharmacy is preferred.

Clinical Pharmacist

Under the supervision of the Critical Care Pharmacy Manager, the SPCU clinical pharmacist will require independent decision-making, clinical judgement, and in-depth knowledge of a mix of surgical patients who are intermediate level of care at the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH). The SPCU clinical pharmacist will provide pharmaceutical care for surgical patients, including neurosurgery, surgical/trauma, cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, and others who require intermediate-level of care support.

The SPCU clinical pharmacist is responsible for coordinating comprehensive clinical pharmacy services, including rounding/collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring appropriate medication therapy, providing education for patients, patient caregivers, and healthcare providers, and collaborating with provider teams to develop, implement, and evaluate medication management quality improvement efforts. In addition, the SPCU clinical pharmacist will serve as a preceptor for the University of Colorado Skaggs School Of Pharmacy.

The SPCU clinical pharmacist's hours will be Monday through Friday day shift, along with critical care weekend and holiday staffing requirements.
