Histotechnologist (Open Rank Healthcare Professional – Entry to Senior) – University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, Department of Pathology. Full‑time, 1.0 FTE. On‑site location:
Aurora, CO.

• Gross dissection and tissue processing of human and animal biospecimens for clinical and translational research.
• Paraffin microtomy and H&E staining of human and animal samples.
• Special histology stains and automated/manual immunohistochemistry.
• Development and optimization of antibody assays.
• Coordination with pathologists, clinicians, researchers, and laboratory personnel to support new and ongoing research projects.
• General laboratory organization, ordering, and inventory management.
• Maintenance of laboratory databases and regulatory compliance.

• Entry Professional: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Intermediate Professional: Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of professional experience in a research or clinical laboratory with histology techniques.
• Senior Professional: Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of professional experience in a research or clinical laboratory with histology techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in research or clinical laboratory and proficiency with histology and immunohistochemistry techniques.
• Experience with human subject research and handling of Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Experience handling animal specimens.
• HTL(ASCP) certification or interest in obtaining certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Effective written and oral communication.
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships with employees at all institutional levels.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
