Every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and rotating holidays

Pay:

$33.82 - $50.73 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary:

Performs laboratory testing of patient specimens in the Microbiology Department, Bacteriology section of the laboratory, including culture reading, bacteria identification, and antimicrobial susceptibility review.

Responsibilities:

Performs diagnostic/analytic testing of specimens. Interprets, documents and reports test results. Performs quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting. Complies with good laboratory practice and regulatory requirements. Performs projects as assigned as well as serves as a resource to laboratory staff and other clinical staff as needed. Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and graduate of an accredited Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist program. Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or categorical ASCP certification in a laboratory specialty/sub-specialty as applicable to job responsibilities. State licensure if required by law.

Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Previous experience in Microbiology reading culture plates and digital plate reading/Microbiology automation systems preferred.
