Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of the EMT Behavioral Healthis to respond to non-emergency and 911 behavioral health requests as a co-responder with a Licensed Behavioral Professional in Aurora., provide advanced and basic life support as needed, and provide on-scene care and transport of clients persons to the appropriate facility. This position works in collaboration with the Aurora Police Department and University of Colorado.
Essential Functions:
The EMT Behavioral Health may be assigned one or more duties. These duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Providing quality patient care using advanced andbasic life support skills, EMS protocols, mental health first aid/care, and transport orders.
· Safe lifting, transferring and maneuvering of patients in and out of ambulances, facilities, residences and other locations.
· Operating the vehicle in a safe manner at all times.
· Presenting himself/herself in a professional manner and displaying a good public image for the employee and Falck Rocky Mountain in accordance with company policy.
· Adhering to the policies and procedures of Falck Rocky Mountain, including the Falck Rocky Mountain Policy and Procedure Manual and local EMS protocols.
· Completing appropriate documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.
· Completing all daily assignments proficiently, punctually and in accordance with the directives of the Operations Supervisor, General Manager and other management team members.
· Responding to instructions from dispatch center and driving specially equipped emergency vehicles to specified locations.
· Providing an environment and equipment conducive to safety for patients, family members, visitors, and employees, and in compliance with set precautions and approved standards. Assessing risks to patient safety.
· Maintaining vehicles and stations in a clean and presentable manner at all times. The employee shall strive to exceed Falck Rocky Mountain’s expectations for cleanliness of the vehicles and stations.
· Maintaining communications equipment, medical equipment and supplies in accordance with applicable standards.
· Communicating effectively with patients, family members, medical personnel, Falck team members, and the general public in verbal and written form.
· Maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information, department operations, and proprietary information obtained during the course of employment with Falck Rocky Mountain. Due to the extremely sensitive nature of this position, this duty of strict confidentiality extends beyond the term of employment.

· Current, valid state issued driver license.

· Ability to work cooperatively with other employees and medical agencies to provide the highest level of patient care.
