Research Services Principal Professional

Job Title:
Research Services Principal Professional
Principal Clinical Science Professionals perform clinical research related functions, including patient‑oriented research, clinical trials, epidemiologic and behavioral studies, and health services research. They may act as team leads, clinical research nurses, or subject‑matter experts.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor ongoing research projects.
- Maintain complete records of all research projects.
- Track patient study visits and assign duties accordingly.
- Assist in design and submission of future research protocols.
- Submit and maintain institutional review board protocols.
- Interact with sponsors regarding clinical studies.
- Interact with patients during study visits.
- Act as work/team lead for 2 or more FTE Professionals, operate as Clinical Research Nurses (RN), or serve as SME in a particular area.
- Schedule:
hybrid schedule of some days per week on campus as needed for in‑person meetings; specific schedule determined by hiring manager.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in any field; alternative: equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree on a year‑by‑year basis.
- Three years of clinical research or related experience (preferred).
- Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g., EMR or EHR, data management systems).
- Four years of clinical research or related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a science or health‑related field.
- Advanced knowledge of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Proficiency in EMR systems, EDC systems, data management systems, statistical software (SAS, STATA, R), Patient Outcomes Collection Systems, research tools (OnCore, Red Cap, clinical trials.gov, Info Ed).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels of the institution.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Basic knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.
