Job Overview

This open‑rank clinical research professional position supports the Ambulatory Health Promotion program, a proactive outreach initiative to enhance preventive and chronic disease services for University of Colorado Health patients. Candidates will be considered for entry, intermediate, or senior levels based on experience. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship and requires the employee to be located in the United States.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care by telephone.
  • Develop, test, and improve AHP outreach and scheduling workflows.
  • Prepare PowerPoint and posters for presentation of AHP programs to internal and external constituents.
  • Conduct literature review and general web searches on evidence‑based care and changes to care guidelines.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary and work‑group teams and attend their meetings as assigned.
  • Participate in training of other AHP outreach coordinators as new hires are onboarded.
  • Enroll study subjects and collect data (from patients and/or health care providers).
  • Import datasets into Red Cap, R, STATA, and SAS for analysis and data cleaning.
  • Generate summary reports for presentation to stakeholders, including providers, clinic staff, and other health care administrators.
  • May serve as backup for Ambulatory Nicotine Cessation Program’s Program Manager.

Qualifications Entry Level
  • Bachelor's degree in any field.
  • A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year‑for‑year basis.
Intermediate Level
  • Bachelor's degree in any field.
  • A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year‑for‑year basis.
  • One (1) year clinical research or related experience.
Senior Level
  • Bachelor's degree in any field.
  • A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year‑for‑year basis.
  • Two (2) years clinical research or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in science or health‑related field, such as Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Pre‑Med.
  • Three (3) or more years of clinical research or related experience.
  • Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g., EMR or EHR and data management systems).
  • Database software experience (e.g., Red Cap, R, STATA, or SAS).
  • Health care certifications (e.g., Medical Assistant training).
  • Bilingual in English and any of the following languages:
    Spanish, Amharic, Arabic, Korean, or Vietnamese.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Advanced computer literacy including experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook) and Zoom.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution as well as with patients, health care providers, and practice teams.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Creative, proactive, and persistent.
  • Ability to maintain a professional and responsible demeanor.
