Job Overview
Performs high quality pediatric diagnostic imaging procedures in multiple modalities. Provides conscientious patient care while adhering to all quality and safety standards. Performs administrative duties including but not limited to scheduling appointments, patient instructions, and maintenance of records. This position is responsible for communicating regularly with patients, families, and all hospital and community caregivers while following department expectations for interactions with patients and families.
Team members in this job must maintain competency and registry in two or more Radiology disciplines. This position is required to be on call depending on the position's location.
The Multi‑Modality Tech II is a second level of a career ladder and is required to maintain Multi‑Modality Tech II portfolio bi‑annually following all department guidelines and procedures for the career ladder program. This level position also serves as a subject‑matter expert to teach, train and/or mentor new staff members, students, and other healthcare professionals according to standard operating procedures.

Essential Functions
Produces high quality imaging while accurately demonstrating anatomy and pathology utilizing proper diagnostic imaging protocols.Facilitates patient flow daily, including management of STAT/urgent and high priority patients.Provides age‑appropriate care and appropriately prepares patients for procedures.Provides clear and detailed information regarding the procedure and care to patients, families, coworkers, and others.Operates and provides staff training for all imaging equipment, including ancillary equipment.Demonstrates, utilizes and teaches principles of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) and ensures proper radiation safety practices.Demonstrates advanced competency in all aspects of Radiology Information System (RIS), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) as it pertains to modality specific functions and use.Demonstrates initial and annual competency in IV placement and securement, vascular access devices and extravasation handling.In the event of an emergency will act as first responder and provide Basic Life Support (BLS) until help arrives.Verifies patient allergies and clinical indications prior to contrast administration. Safely administers contrast using the five rights. Ensures contrast is appropriately ordered and documented in patient’s medical record.Follows department policies, procedures and protocols. Raises or addresses concerns regarding non‑compliance or patient/staff safety.Participates in protocol assessment and creation.Participates in competency assessments.May be responsible for the coordination and/or oversight of projects and initiatives as defined by leadership.Teaches, trains and/or mentors new employees, students and other healthcare professionals according to standard operating procedures.Follows implements and assists in the management of established quality assurance/control (QA/QC) and safety programs to include The Joint Commission, American College of Radiology (ACR), and the State of Colorado.Promptly reports equipment malfunctions or errors and contacts respective service engineer or Biomed for repair.Maintains advanced competency in CT Physics and dose reduction techniques.Maintains competency and registry in two or more Radiology disciplines. Works 20% of scheduled shifts in secondary disciplines.Maintains Multi‑Modality Tech II portfolio bi‑annually.Communicates clearly and effectively in both verbal and written forms, following established department guidelines for customer service.Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited Radiology program - Experience:
