Job SummaryApplications are sought for a 1.0 FTE full-time Instructor of Clinical Practice/NP or PA at UCHealth Multi-Specialty Cancer Practice, Highlands Ranch Hospital (HRH). The APP position focuses on oncology/hematology patient care, including daily patient visits in Oncology clinics and oversight of an anti-cancer intravenous infusion area. The APP will provide in-office and telephone support for patients and families. Additional training in active symptom management, palliative care, and clinical trials conduct will be provided.
A 1.0 FTE position includes 40 hours per week; hours may be distributed based on clinic needs. Primary work location: UCHealth Highlands Ranch Multi-Specialty Cancer Practice, HRH, 1500 Park Central Drive, Highlands Ranch, CO 80129.
- Manages the health care of patients at HRH, including coordination of patient care with available hospital resources.
- Performs comprehensive patient health assessments, including history, physical exams, preventive screening; identifies medical health risks and needs.
- Conducts scheduled study-related visits, screenings, and toxicity assessments of patients on phase I–III clinical trials.
- Formulates appropriate differential diagnoses based on clinical evaluation.
- Performs, orders and/or interprets diagnostic studies within scope of practice.
- Performs advanced technical procedures within the scope of clinical practice for these programs and other programs requesting procedures.
- Plans and implements therapeutic regimens including nursing and medical management, with prescription of medications/devices where appropriate.
- Establishes systematic follow-up, reevaluates and modifies the plan of care, initiates referrals and consultations as appropriate.
- Assures patient and family teaching to manage illness or wellness at home.
- Facilitates patient participation and promotes self-care by providing necessary information to support decision-making.
- Utilizes the medical system cost-effectively without compromising quality; may be involved in case management across the continuum of care.
- Works as a team member, collaborating with professional colleagues to provide comprehensive care.
- Maintains accurate, confidential medical records; ensures charting is current and communicates patient needs/progress to other providers.
- Hours:
Day shift with evenings, weekends, and holiday rotation. Night/weekend call may be required for additional pay with physician backup and shared among clinicians. - Applies organizational policies, regulations and procedures in patient care; participates in required training on systems as needed.
- For finalist hire, Allied Health credentialing through UCHealth medical staff office is required.
