Research Services Clinical Services Professional (Open Rank – Entry and Intermediate Level)

Job Summary

The Clinical Sciences Professional will work within the Division of Gynecologic Oncology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The role will be to coordinate the daily activities required to conduct clinical research protocols, recruitment and enrollment of research participants, schedule study participant clinic visits, accurately record and enter data, respond to data queries from study sponsors, and support physician investigators.

The position may be utilized to support research at the main Anschutz Medical Campus as well as in Northern Colorado. The PRA in this position will not be called on to make independent medical decisions at any time, but a solid fundamental knowledge of biological and medical sciences is necessary for this position. Additionally, an appreciation of accepted methods of clinical research is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen, recruit and consent research subjects at both University of Colorado and/or in Northern Colorado
  • Database and survey creation
  • Accurate data collection and data entry
  • Collect, process and ship biological specimens
  • Issue study subject payments (SSPs) and maintain record keeping of SSPs in database
  • Conduct follow-up phone interviews, schedule clinic visits, generate referrals
  • Assist with regulatory submissions
  • Assist with study-specific capitation and allocation of expenses
  • Assist with maintenance of research folders
  • Maintain study regulatory binders
  • Collaborate with other research personnel and groups on a variety of studies
  • Maintenance of study specific certifications, COMIRB training, computer training and other hospital required training
  • Other duties as assigned
Work Location

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 4 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications Entry Level

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis
Intermediate Level

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis
  • One (1) year clinical research or related experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in science or health related field
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g. EMR or EHR and data management systems)

  • Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally

Pay Range
  • Entry level: $49,899 - $66,865
  • Intermediate level: $54,302 - $72,765
