Provide overall leadership for sports medicine by developing the athletic training vision and strategic direction; conducting regular staff meetings, hiring, coordinating and supervising sports medicine personnel; provide oversight of training room facilities, scheduling coverage for practices and events and ensure daily reporting of injuries and illness is accurate and timely.
Prepare student-athletes for workouts, practices and competition; provide evaluations of, treatment for and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for collegiate student-athletes; maintain complete medical records (accident reports, treatment records, insurance forms, etc.) in accordance with HIPPA regulations.
Athletic Training ManagementServe as the main liaison for communication between athletic training staff and team physicians, doctors and coaches; prepare and administer the annual operating budget for athletic training; and oversee the purchase and procurement of medical supplies, equipment and technologies.
Ancillary Duties- Provide and continue to cultivate positive relationships and interaction with academics while supervising and assigning athletic training students in our CAATE-accredited program.
- Support coaches who conduct camps and clinics; serve on committees that promote the success of the program and athletics; establish and maintain community contacts that enhance the success of the program.
- Other duties as assigned by the Associate Athletic Director and/or Vice President for Athletics and Strategic Partnerships.
