The HIM Scanning Manager will provide enterprise-wide leadership for Scanning Operations across UCHealth, supporting 15 acute-care hospitals and associated clinics throughout the Metro, North, and Southern regions. The homebase will be wherever you are located. This role has a strong focus on process improvement, operational standardization, efficiency, and advancing AI and automation within HIM workflows. We are seeking a forward-thinking, data-driven leader who can optimize processes, leverage emerging technology, develop and standardize workflows, and lead teams through continued operational transformation across a large and complex healthcare system.

Manages daily operations for an assigned area or function in HIM to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.

• Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization. Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction and conflict management. Performs and oversees scheduling, recruitment, and payroll.
• May monitor departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts and vendor relations. Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.
• Implements system wide procedures for secure disposal/shredding of paper/documents containing PHI. Acts as a Subject Matter Expert and point of contact for record retention and storage inquires.
• Supports special projects and business analysis as requested. Travels to different regions/locations as needed.

• Bachelor's degree. Preferred:
  Completion of college courses in Health Information Management, Medical Terminology and Human Anatomy.
• Valid driver's license. Preferred:
  Certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) through American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
• 5 years of related experience.
