Senior Employee Relations Consultant

• Directs, implements, and communicates performance management practices and philosophies.
• Primary contact for working with leaders on Performance Management issues including all level of disciplines and terminations.
• Consults with leadership both tactical and strategic levels on best practices for employee issues to ensure consistency across the organization to minimize risk.
• Provides Employee Relations related advice and counsel to business area employees and managers that is in accordance with company policies, practices, systems, and processes.
• Manages internal employee relation investigations involving non-EEO related matters.
• Ensures compliance with federal and state legal requirements and company policies.
• Leads and partners with leadership on performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions).
• Manages the performance management process to ensure effective and timely use.
• Supports leaders in addressing and communicating employee performance issues and in developing performance improvement plans when necessary.
• Provides expert knowledge, critical feedback, and guidance to management on non-union terminations to minimize legal risk to the company.
• Ensures all applicable state laws are followed.
• Manages and conducts internal non-EEO employee investigations.
• Provides full explanation of findings and identify problems and/or potential areas of risk.
• Works with HR Business Partners and other HR areas to proactively manage employee performance issues.
• Partners in developing recommendations to address performance management trends.
• Develops and maintains standard processes and documents.
• Leads and supports project work.

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, HR or related field.
• 5 years human resources related experience.
• Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including, employee and union relations, EEO, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
• Master's Degree in HR or similar field or performance management experience preferred.

Demonstrates expertise in performance management practices, employee relations, and compliance with federal and state employment laws. Capable of providing strategic guidance to leadership while managing employee performance issues and investigations.
