Internship Overview

We believe the best way to start your career is by doing work you actually care about. In our internship program, you take the driver’s seat. We tailor your day-to-day projects around your specific career interests and goals, not just a checklist of corporate chores.

As a leading electrical contractor, we’ll give you an insider’s look into the industry through real-world experience on active projects. You’ll get to see how different teams collaborate to bring complex projects to life, build practical and professional skills, and learn directly from industry pros in the field and office.

Role Overview

As an HR intern, you won’t be stuck doing coffee runs or busy work. You’ll be a true extension of our HR team, getting hands on exposure across the entire employee experience, from recruiting talent, to keeping our team members engaged and supported.

Because our program is tailored to your goals, you'll have the opportunity to explore the areas that interest you most. You’ll help develop new company initiatives like onboarding and engagement programs, research strategic talent partnerships, or collaborate with HR leaders on training and recruiting. No matter where your interests lead, you'll contribute to meaningful projects that make a lasting impact on our culture and company.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities:

Boost Team Engagement

  • Bring new ideas to help make the workplace more engaging and connected. Assist with planning team-building activities, employee events, and recognition programs across departments. Help create and share employee surveys, gather feedback, and support initiatives that make a positive impact on the employee experience.

Streamline HR Operations

  • Help keep our day-to-day HR processes running smoothly by looking at our current systems, spotting any gaps, and finding creative ways to simplify our team workflows and digital tools.

Explore What Interests You Most

  • Tailor your project workload around your specific career goals. You’ll get opportunities to sit in on phone screenings with recruiting, sit down with our HR Director on compensation and benefits, or with Learning & Development on finding engaging training opportunities for current employees.

Additional duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Curious and ready to jump in, just bring enthusiasm, ask great questions, and be excited to take ownership on real projects.
  • People oriented, with a strong interest in connecting with everyone across IME, from office staff to field crews, and a genuine desire to make our workday better.
  • Trustworthy and ethical, with the discretion needed to handle sensitive employee information behind the scenes.
