Job Overview
Manage all power, space, and cooling configuration management activities for site data centers on behalf of the site Data Center Manager (DCM). Lead the implementation of the government’s DCIM tool at the site level, develop and maintain site DCIM change/configuration management processes, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure all data center elements are captured accurately.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain site DCIM change/configuration management processes with site stakeholders.
- Implement and manage a site data center audit program to maintain the accuracy of DCIM, AutoCAD, and floor drawing data.
- Perform quality assurance inspections for equipment rack integration activities and assignment of system level liens.
- Develop and distribute data center metrics to stakeholders as required.
- Provide advice and guidance on methods, procedures, and requirements for documentation creation.
- Drive technology release strategy, execution, and improvements across the development life cycle.
- Collaborate with other departments to implement best practices for release tools and process improvements.
- Coordinate support with the DC management team to minimize overlap in PSC requirements gathering and ensure shared data with all stakeholders.
- Assist with site surveys to collect and manage PSC data requirements for data center configuration management tools.
- Review and comment on Change Requests (RFCs or NSSRs) that impact site PSC resources.
- Utilize configuration management tools such as NLyte, Archibus, and other DCIM products to analyze PSC requirements and maintain an accurate site baseline.
- Coordinate local site DCIM implementation and management activities with DMD in support of the government or host agency strategy.
- Input and maintain the site DC hierarchy, floor plans, and equipment within the enterprise DCIM web portal.
- Coordinate site change/configuration management process development with system engineering and integration teams.
- Develop, maintain, and distribute required PSC and equipment metrics from DCIM and other data sources.
- Develop and implement quality assurance activities to audit and maintain accuracy of data within DCIM.
- Coordinate with AOs / system owners to enable integration of rack content data into DCIM.
- Coordinate with DMD and network teams to develop and implement DCIM monitoring network for power and environmental data.
- Collect and manage rack level power and environmental data, distributing it to stakeholders when required.
- Maintain OEM specifications sheets and support development of enterprise DCIM templates.
- Develop custom DCIM templates/models for site unique equipment.
- Audit site data center floor plans and coordinate “as-built” changes with local facility teams.
- Coordinate data center baseline changes and applicable configuration management tools.
- Required Experience:
5+ years of related experience in data center or configuration management. - Education:
High School diploma or associate’s degree. - Security+ certification within six months of hire.
- Technical
Skills:
Configuration Management (CM), Data Center Support, Microsoft Office. - Clearance:
Top Secret SCI + Polygraph; ability to obtain. - US Citizenship required.
Salary range: $68,000 - $92,000, based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
