Job Status: Year Round, Full Time
Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $2,222.46 to $2,330.77+ biweekly amount; actual pay adjusted based on experience.

Job SummaryThe IT Support Specialist (IT-SS) works with a team that provides technology solutions and acts as the primary escalation point to resolve problems. Under the direction of the IT Director, the IT-SS performs skilled work in the design, installation, configuration and maintenance of desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, point-of-sale systems, RFID gates and scanners, and other related equipment. The IT-SS is responsible for system administration in a Windows Server environment (physical and virtual via VMware ESX) and contributes to the analysis and documentation of IT best practices.
This includes design, implementation and administration of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, MS Exchange, Backup and Recovery, and File/Print services. The IT-SS supports production servers, desktops, laptops, tablets, POS, peripherals, operating systems, applications and network infrastructure, and oversees telecom moves/adds/changes in a mixed PBX/VOIP environment and mountain radio systems. The IT-SS uses electronic test equipment to troubleshoot and calibrate equipment and maintains records and reports.
The role may investigate, test and recommend hardware purchases. Excellent customer service is required to support staff, vendors and end users and to maintain cooperative working relationships. The IT-SS must work under pressure, follow directions, and prioritize requests to minimize downtime.
- REVIEW AND CONTROL:
Maintain a centralized IT ticket system, log and track issues, review and reassign tickets as needed, and ensure timely resolution per IT Director guidance. - STRATEGIC PLANNING:
Ensure computer systems meet business needs; update and develop computer systems; exercise discretion and independent judgment within budget and staffing resources. - FINANCE:
Research technical solutions within budget; assist IT Director with budget forecasts and identifying upcoming needs. - COMMUNICATION:
Coordinate with staff and vendors; document systems clearly; maintain inventory and compliance with IT standards. - INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS:
Interact with users, training others on complex topics; adhere to Copper Mountain policies and Acceptable Use of IT Assets policy. - PROFESSIONAL GROWTH:
Pursue ongoing education and training to stay current with technology trends. - WORK HOURS:
Maintain a salary-exempt status with weekend/holiday/flexible hours; be on-call 24x7 as needed; occasional late-night maintenance. - OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED:
Adapt to evolving responsibilities and participate in leadership activities and company programs as required.
Basic Requirements:
- Must lift/carry items up to 50 lbs; able to ski, walk, and drive to Copper Mountain locations; able to carry equipment; fine motor skills for small components; able to work outside in high altitude.
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks; able to work under stress in a fast-paced environment; 100% operational systems availability.
- Criminal background check as required after acceptance, in accordance with Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Preferred
Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems or related field, or equivalent work experience; 1+ year experience in installing, maintaining and repairing computers and networks in a mid-size business.
