System Administrator II (Linux). The role supports the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems for government agencies. Candidates must hold an active TS/SCI clearance with Poly.
Responsibilities- Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
- Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
- Manage daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
- Assist users in accessing and using IT systems.
- Support day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices.
- Escalate and communicate status to agency management and internal customers.
- Optimize system operations and resource utilization; perform system capacity analysis and planning.
- Provide in-depth troubleshooting of IT systems.
- Deliver detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
- Support dispatch system and hardware problems and remain involved in the resolution process.
- Configure and manage UNIX and Linux (or other applicable) operating systems; install/load OS software; troubleshoot, maintain integrity, configure network components, and implement OS enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
- Ten (10) years' experience as a System Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university, or five (5) years of additional System Administrator experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly.
- Proficiency in UNIX/Linux administration, troubleshooting, and network component configuration.
- Experience providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, including problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
- Strong communication skills to support escalation and status reporting to agency management and internal customers.
- Proposed salary range for these positions in Colorado: $120,000 – $192,000 (CT9).
