Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is seeking a Hardware Maintenance Tech 1/2 to join our team at Buckley AFB in Aurora, CO.

Responsibilities

The SBIRS Support Center / Hardware Maintainer (SSC/HW) provides 24x7 shift-based support of the network, data communications, RF antenna, Communications Security (COMSEC), and hardware infrastructure within the SBIRS (Space Based Infra Red Systems) Enterprise. The SSC/HW is responsible to monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, restore operations, coordinate maintenance and track problem reports for all SBIRS system level outages. The SSC/HW may be required to perform additional duties as requested by program leadership.

This position will report programmatically to the Hardware Maintenance Engineering Team Lead.

This requisition may be filled at a higher job grade based on the qualifications listed below.

This requisition may be filled as either a level 1 or level 2.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 1:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required at time of application
  • Ability to lift forty pounds, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes and work in high heat/cold environments
  • Ability to operate hand and portable power tools, and work may involve climbing on ladders
  • Ability to perform COMSEC duties & responsibilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 4 years of related experience
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required at time of application
  • Ability to lift forty pounds, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes and work in high heat/cold environments
  • Ability to operate hand and portable power tools, and work may involve climbing on ladders
  • Ability to perform COMSEC duties & responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Thorough understanding of technical principles, theories, and concepts, pertaining to the network, data communications, RF antenna, and hardware infrastructure within the SBIRS system.
  • Ability to identify performance issues and recommend/implement corrections, identify alarm correlations and execute appropriate response actions.
  • Adept with network/system monitoring tools (Network Node Manager, What's up gold, Remedy)
  • Knowledge of network routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.
  • Experience with fault isolating and troubleshooting networks.
  • Understanding of firewalls and firewall appliances from Cisco and Juniper
  • Experience working with network hardware such as multiplexers, routers, and switches
  • Proficient with network test equipment:
    Fluke, BERT, cable analyzers and sniffers.
  • Capability to follow policies and procedures and be able to positively contribute to the evolution of the organization as needed.
Primary Level Salary Range: $51,400.00 - $85,600.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $61,100.00 - $

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
