System Administrator - Secret Clearance

The Work

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated System Administrator to join our team in Colorado Springs. This position will act as the first line of defense for user level interactions and issues. The position will be primarily supporting users in person, via secure phone, e‑mail or instant message (IM). This role is customer facing, requiring refined customer service skills in addition to IT expertise.

You must be comfortable diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with remote users on a daily basis. The role will also support MDA flight tests and focus on the integration of R&D systems into C2

BMC, contributing to other ongoing X‑Lab projects as needed.

• This position requires a government security clearance at the Secret level; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
• This position is located at Schriever, Space Force Base, 10 miles east of Colorado Springs, CO, and is 100% onsite.
• This position may involve around 10% travel to customer sites throughout the U.S. and may occasionally support test events that occur off‑hours, including overnight or on weekends.

• Active final Secret clearance required prior to starting.
• Must possess a DoD 8140 IAT Level II compliant certificate such as CompTIA Security+ CE or similar (CISSP, CASP); if not held, must obtain within 90 days of starting.
• Experience with system administration in Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
• Experience supporting users in an enterprise‑level system, demonstrating the ability to handle complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.

• Experience using a help‑desk ticketing system (e.g., Atlassian JIRA) for recording work details and tracking information.
• Ability to develop documentation, including standard operating procedures, using enterprise tools such as Atlassian Confluence.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Power Shell, Bash, or Python, and automation tools such as Ansible.
• Object‑oriented coding experience (e.g., Java, Python) is a plus.

Secret

Onsite full‑time:
The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to employees. Schedules range from a standard 40‑hour week over five days; condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office, in addition to Paid Time Off benefits.

4 × 10‑hour day, 3 days off per week

The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, and Washington DC is $81,600–$143,865. For states not referenced above, the salary range will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
