Epic Application Analyst – Willow IP
Sigma, Inc. is seeking an experienced Epic Application Analyst to support Children's Hospital Colorado in a fully remote capacity. This opportunity is ideal for an Epic professional with 5+ years of hands-on Epic build experience and the required Epic Willow Inpatient (Willow IP) certification.
The Epic Application Analyst will support application design, configuration, workflow development, troubleshooting, testing, upgrades, integrations, and Tier 2/Tier 3 support while partnering with clinical users, IT teams, report developers, and vendors.
Job SummaryThe Epic Application Analyst will independently analyze, design, build, implement, maintain, optimize, and support Epic applications. The role requires advanced troubleshooting skills and the ability to translate complex technical and clinical requirements into effective Epic application solutions.
The successful candidate will work closely with clinical users, IT teams, vendors, report developers, and other stakeholders throughout application evaluation, design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and optimization.
This position offers an opportunity to serve as a technical subject matter expert, provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support, mentor team members, and lead complex Epic application initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Epic Application Development & Build- Analyze and diagnose complex Epic application and system issues.
- Identify root causes and resolve issues or escalate appropriately.
- Plan, design, build, implement, maintain, optimize, and support Epic applications.
- Gather, validate, and translate complex technical requirements into design and development specifications.
- Design, analyze, and build workflows to meet clinical and operational needs.
- Coordinate preparation, coding, testing, and debugging of complex programs and application components.
- Address highly technical issues during application installation, implementation, and maintenance.
- Support application integrations and technical solutions.
- Collaborate with clinical users and IT teams during application evaluation, design, testing, implementation, and maintenance.
- Analyze existing workflows and recommend application improvements.
- Translate user requirements into functional and technical solutions.
- Work with stakeholders to improve application usability, performance, and efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance and support for complex clinical application workflows.
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 end-user support.
- Gather and analyze data to troubleshoot incidents and identify root causes.
- Document technical issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
- Resolve complex application problems independently and escalate high-impact issues when necessary.
- Participate in an on-call rotation as required.
- Identify reporting requirements and collaborate with report developers.
- Gather and analyze application and operational data to support troubleshooting and decision-making.
- Assist with data validation and application-related reporting needs.
- Support technical documentation and reporting requirements.
- Review Epic upgrade documentation and monthly system updates.
- Assess the potential impact of upgrades and system changes.
- Support testing, implementation, and maintenance activities associated with upgrades.
- Recommend system improvements and enhancements.
- Work with vendors to resolve system issues and improve application performance and usability.
- Act as a project lead for complex Epic application initiatives.
- Coordinate technical activities across projects and application teams.
- Mentor team members on technical, application, and customer-support skills.
- Provide technical guidance to less experienced team members.
- Work independently with limited supervision and exercise sound judgment when making technical decisions.
- 5+ years of hands-on Epic build experience.
- Strong experience with Epic application configuration, development, testing, troubleshooting, and optimization.
