Position Overview

Data Center Technicians are responsible for troubleshooting datacenter infrastructure issues including hardware, fiber, networking, and related problems at one of the world's largest information system infrastructures. This role requires US citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and track capacity, rack deployment, cabling, hardware and software troubleshooting, and rack decommissioning.
  • Perform physical data center activities (lifting and moving material up to 40 lbs, working in cramped or elevated locations, bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day).
  • Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation.
  • Work in a noisy environment and shift work longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (covering night and day shifts).
A Day in the Life
  • Take ownership of technical issues brought by the customer base, engaging other teams when needed to drive resolution.
  • Show a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving, solving problems at their root and stepping back to understand the broader context.
  • Maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting.
  • Act independently in the absence of direction or support.
  • Improve effectiveness through process innovation.
  • Work at multiple sites, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
  • High school or equivalent diploma, or A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+.
  • 2+ years of server hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
  • Active Security+ certification or ability to obtain one within 90 days of start.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of hardware platforms.
  • 1+ years of computer networking experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or equivalent professional or military experience.
