Cloud Architect (Senior)
The Boeing Company Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Experimental Systems Group (ESG) seeks a Senior Cloud Architect to provide technical leadership and ensure modern, best practices across programs and product lines, in a highly dynamic, collaborative environment.
ESG focuses on rapid development to demonstrate a host of next-generation, mission-focused technologies, products, and services for a variety of customers. We work all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal authoring, architecture, requirements, and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration.
Position Responsibilities:- Design, implementation, and sustainment of secure Dev Sec Ops pipelines and automation capabilities in air-gapped and on-premises environments.
- Architect and maintain Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code solutions to support repeatable provisioning, configuration, and deployment in disconnected environments.
- Establish and govern secure container build, storage, transfer, and deployment processes for isolated networks and restricted-access systems.
- Provide technical leadership for integration, deployment, and test environments through standardization, access control, and baseline management.
- Troubleshoot complex platforms, application, infrastructure, and security issues across development, integration, test, and deployment boundaries.
- Lead implementation of automated testing, monitoring, and validation capabilities to improve reliability, traceability, and mission readiness.
- Apply metrics and root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement of Dev Sec Ops tools, processes, and system performance.
- Guide remediation of security vulnerabilities and implementation of compliance controls within secure disconnected enterprise environments.
- Lead stakeholder engagement to define priorities, drive consensus, and align Dev Sec Ops product direction with program needs.
- Partner with engineering, cybersecurity, operations, senior leadership, and external customers to gather requirements, drive implementation, and support adoption of Dev Sec Ops capabilities.
- Own Dev Sec Ops product planning and execution to ensure delivery of secure, mission-aligned capabilities.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to drive implementation of Dev Sec Ops enhancements and support adoption.
- Provide leadership for Dev Sec Ops roadmap execution, backlog prioritization, and performance tracking.
This position is expected to be fully onsite in either Seal Beach, CA;
Aurora, CO;
Colorado Springs, CO;
El Segundo, CA;
Herndon, CA; or Leesburg, VA.
- Active U.S. Top Secret. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
- Minimum years of related experience: 5+ years for level 4, 10+ years for level 5.
- Experience leading software teams or projects.
- Experience utilizing Agile development processes.
- Development Operations (Dev Ops) or Development Security Operations (Dev Sec Ops ) experience.
- Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) experience using appropriate code versioning, build, and test automation tools.
- If not already within commuting distance of one of the listed locations, willingness and ability to relocate at own expense.
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- Test automation experience.
- Experience deploying and sustaining Docker and Kubernetes solutions in air-gapped environments, including cluster administration, orchestration, automation, security, and performance optimization.
- Experience with cloud-based container platforms such as AWS.
- Proficient with the Git Lab ecosystem.
- Security+ or equivalent certification.
- Proficient with a variety of software development languages, tools, and techniques.
