Supply Planning & Logistics Lead

Dessert Holdings is looking for a Supply Planning & Logistics Lead. Initially, this individual will support strategic customers by monitoring demand and supply allocation to meet customer needs. Long range, this individual will support our Pembroke, NC plant’s WIP supply planning and coordinate inbound and outbound network for a new packaging line.

The typical hiring range for this role is $85,000 to $100,000 annually and is based on several factors such as education, work experience, skills, certifications, location, etc. In addition to pay, Dessert Holdings offers benefits such as a choice of comprehensive medical plans, dental and vision insurance, paid vacation and holidays, and retirement contribution to all eligible employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Customer Execution Lead
  • Review all order lines for assigned strategic customers, compare them with available supply at assigned network node, and act to mitigate any gaps.
  • Monitor transfer and sales orders and confirm on‑time dispatch to and receipt at the 3PLs/customer, including working with external logistics partner to remediate missed pick‑ups/deliveries.
  • Work with supply planning to make production schedule changes as necessary to support strategic customers
  • Allocate inventory to select customer DCs based on customer feedback where availability is limited, and change shipment nodes to maximize effective use of supply and planned production, including advising customer fulfillment of dispatch date and time changes needed to support orders in full while staying within customer delivery window
  • Maintain updated tracker of customer LTO (Limited Time Offer) production, supply and remaining orders, and flag any projected shortfall or delays to supply planning, distribution planning and customer fulfillment.
Supply Planning & Logistics Lead
  • Support co‑packing transfer activities to Pembroke, North Carolina plant, including planning and logistics for set‑up of new packaging line, and inbound and outbound network.
  • Review finished goods requirement vs agreed target and plan production on packaging line out to the specified scheduling horizon, balancing customer requirements with efficient plant schedules and warehouse capacity
  • Plan transfers from finished goods production into each 3PL based on distribution forecast while building full truckloads (FTLs) to optimize logistics costs
  • Maintain agreed Work‑in‑Process (WIP) inventory at inbound warehouse by calculating upcoming production requirements and placing purchase orders to communicate supply requirements from London, Ontario plant
  • Provide short, medium and long‑term forecasts for plant production as well as WIP requirements to support procurement, operations planning and supply planning as well as capacity monitoring.
  • Coordinate all inbound (WIP) and outbound (FG) transfers with external logistics provider, including recovery plans for missed loads, to prevent plant downtime, and product shortages.
  • Create and maintain purchase, work and transfer orders in Microsoft Dynamics 365, including data integrity, and item‑level settings
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Four‑year degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering OR relevant certifications (APICS, CPIM, CSCP, etc.)
  • At least 5 years of experience which may include supply planning, production scheduling, network inventory allocation, logistics/transportation management, ideally in the CPG/food and beverage/pharmaceutical industries
  • Excellent knowledge of supply chain concepts and understanding tradeoffs between service levels and cost‑to‑serve
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including cross‑functionally and with external service providers
  • Extensive experience with ERP systems, managing work orders, supply forecasts, and item settings
