Regis Jesuit High School is seeking a Chief Financial Officer. The posting will be posted until filled.
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) reports to the President and is a member of the school’s Leadership Team. The CFO has primary responsibility for ensuring the effective and responsible stewardship of the school’s financial resources and health. In addition to being a member of the president’s leadership team, the CFO frequently staffs Board of Trustees meetings and provides leadership to three board sub-committees (Investment, Audit/Finance, Planning & Major Projects) in cooperation with the committee chairperson.
The CFO oversees the Business Office, a Retail Shop Manager, Facilities & Grounds and Information Technology departments, and provides supervision to the Controller, Director of Facilities Management and the Director of Information Technology.
The starting salary for this position is $178,000. The benefits package includesemployer paid health, dental, life insurance, LTD and retirement matching. Essential Job Functions (Responsibilities)Strategic Financial Leadership:
- Develop strong understanding of the mission and programs of Jesuit secondary education.
- Lead and ensure the integrity of the financial management and reporting of the school.
- Provide leadership to the development and presentation of the school’s strategic financial plan.
- Prepare and provide an annual budget and 3-5 year financial forecasting including tuition rate recommendations as requested by the President, Board of Trustees or its sub-committees.
- Advise school leadership on financial matters related to the school’s endowment, debt and tuition planning.
- Provide regular reporting to school leadership team, Board of Trustees and its subcommittees.
- Provide leadership to the school facilities maintenance, replacement and expansion as required to deliver the school programming. This includes maintaining asset retirement schedules and developing strategies for the required capital to fund facility activities.
- Provide leadership for school IT resources and assure appropriate IT security and overall strategy comports with leading private school requirements.
Business Office Oversight:
- Ensure the integrity of business office operations for effective financial stewardship, excellent customer service and care for internal and external constituencies.
- Hire, supervise and develop staff members to deliver required services.
- Maintain, monitor and document adequate system of internal controls for all school functions involving school funds, including the stewardship of donor funds.
- Oversee all financial aspects of the school including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and all banking functions.
- Oversee the student financial aid processes. Consults on financial aid applications as necessary.
Budget Functions:
- Lead the annual budgeting process, including capacity-development of the school’s budget monitors. Develop a deep understanding of school programs priorities and operations. Verify integrity of all budget line items. Maintain documentation for each budget year.
- Recommend annual detail payroll budget and salary scales with input from the President’s Leadership Team.
- Provide ongoing reporting, management and communication to the President and all budget managers to ensure the operations remain within budget.
- Prepare and monitor monthly budget to actual reports.
- Develop and manage the process to approve, fund and acquire new capital assets.
Financial Statements:
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements. Provide reporting to all stakeholders including President, board-sub-committees and Board of Trustees.
- In cooperation with the Vice President for Advancement, provide financial data for the annual President’s report.
- Oversee the annual audit.
- Prepare annual financial statement for annual audit report based on Not-for-Profit accounting guidelines.
