Job Summary:The Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes (BDC) at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus seeks an accomplished clinician-scientist and leader for an open rank faculty position atthe Associate or Professor rank. This position includes an administrative appointment as Pediatric Diabetes Director and represents a unique opportunity to lead the nation's premier pediatric diabetes programs within one of the largest diabetes-focused institute in the world.
The successful candidate will be a nationally recognized leader in pediatric diabetes care, research, and program development with a demonstrated commitment to advancing clinical excellence,innovation, education, and discovery. The Pediatric Diabetes Director will provide strategic and operational leadership for theBDC Pediatric Diabetes Division, overseeing clinical care delivery,faculty and staff development, research growth, and educational programs while fostering a collaborative culture focused on improving outcomes for children and adolescents with diabetes.
The Pediatric Diabetes Director will serve as the primary leaderfor pediatric diabetes programs at the Barbara Davis Center,guiding the continued growth of a nationally recognized clinical and academic enterprise. This leader will work closely with faculty, trainees, BDC leadership, hospital leadership, and community partners to advance innovative models of care, expand clinical and translational research, strengthen educational programs, and enhance the national reputation of the Barbara Davis Center.
The Barbara Davis Center is internationally recognized for excellence in type 1 diabetes research and care. More than 220clinicians, scientists, and staff work together to advance prevention, treatment, and cures for diabetes through groundbreaking research, comprehensive clinical care, andworld-class education. Key Responsibilities:- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Pediatric Diabetes Division's clinical, research, educational, and communityoutreach missions.
- Develop and implement a long-term vision that advance the Division's national leadership in pediatric diabetes care,research, and innovation.
- Recruit, mentor, retain, and develop outstanding faculty,advanced practice providers, and staff while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, professionalism, and inclusion.
- Supervise faculty, clinical, educational, and administrative personnel.
- Serve as the primary liaison for diabetes care between
Children's Hospital Colorado and the Barbara Davis Center (20% effort). - Partner with BDC, University of Colorado School of Medicine,and Children's Hospital Colorado leadership to align priorities and achieve strategic goals.
- Direct the organization, quality, and delivery of outpatient pediatric diabetes care at the BDC.
- Advance innovative models of care that improve patient outcomes, access, efficiency, patient experience, and population health.
- Foster growth of clinical, translational, and investigator-initiated diabetes research programs.
- Support faculty in obtaining and sustaining extramural funding and developing collaborative research initiatives.
- Provide leadership for pediatric diabetes education program sand participate in oversight of the jointly funded Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship Program.
- Serve as the ambassador for the Barbara Davis Center and University of Colorado nationally and internationally.
- Cultivate productive relationships with philanthropic partners,advocacy organizations, and community stakeholders.
- Provides oversight to Division's Clinical and Research Directors.
Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado.
