Provide strategic direction and operational oversight for Surgical Services departments across multiple designated facilities
Oversee fiscal stewardship, regulatory compliance, policies, practice implementation, professional development, patient safety, and quality standards
Lead site directors and managers across assigned facilities
Develop, oversee, coordinate, and evaluate patient care across Surgical Services
Collaborate with enterprise, regional, local, nursing, clinical program, service line, and other leaders
Oversee daily operations, huddles, services, rounding, and rotational on-site presence across facilities
Implement enterprise safety processes, quality measures, improvements, and accreditations
Support workflow efficiency, facility budgets, capital equipment purchases, labor costs, staffing models, and resource stewardship
Ensure compliance with supply chain contracts and support product and product deviation requests through value analysis processes
Plan and implement surgical services strategies, process indicators, and growth goals
Lead enterprise-wide initiatives and partner with nursing, clinical programs, and service lines
Support physician recruitment and local physician engagement
Coach and mentor directors and managers to foster a highly engaged workforce
Develop and support practice councils and professional development
Support compliance with federal, state, and regulatory bodies including The Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, and DOPL
Report directly to the Vice President of Surgical Services
Support the Canyons North geography and adjust coverage as needed
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution; degree will be verified
- Master’s degree in a clinical or business field from an accredited institution; degree verification required
- Demonstrated excellent understanding of surgical services-related policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Demonstrated experience balancing clinical, regulatory, and financial goals and outcomes
- Experience collaborating with individuals at all organizational levels
- Demonstrated commitment to developing others and serving as a mentor and role model
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed across assigned Surgical Services areas
- Ability to see and read information, documents, monitors, equipment, and supplies
- Ability to verbally communicate and hear and understand spoken information quickly and accurately
Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment - Frequent computer use
- Ability to drive a vehicle where required
Demonstrates expertise in Surgical Services management, including strategic direction, operational oversight, and regulatory compliance. Proven ability to lead teams, mentor staff, and implement quality measures while ensuring fiscal stewardship and patient safety.
