What You’ll Do- Conduct routine safety inspections of departmental systems and equipment, including safety showers, eye wash stations, fire extinguishers, EBAs, and alarms.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on lab instruments and general equipment such as compressors and vacuum pumps, including calibration, cleaning, and part replacement.
- Maintain accurate Instrument Maintenance Logs and ensure proper documentation of all work performed.
- Troubleshoot critical equipment issues and provide technical support by following up on Instrument Tracking Reports (ITRs).
- Analyze routine and non-routine samples using various laboratory instruments and analytical methods; record results in the LIMS system.
- Prioritize sample and analysis requests from Process Development and Engineering teams to support operational needs.
- Generate analytical data for process monitoring and shipment samples to ensure product quality control and assurance.
- Analyze customer samples from metal finishing operations and coordinate with external laboratories when additional testing is required.
- Monitor laboratory inventory through audits and updates to inventory tracking sheets.
- Perform statistical quality control charting to verify analytical accuracy and process stability.
- Follow all site safety and environmental protocols to maintain a compliant and safe working environment.
- Store hazardous waste in compatible, intact containers within designated accumulation areas; ensure containers remain closed except during waste transfer and maintain empty secondary containment.
- Conduct weekly inspections of hazardous waste storage areas to verify proper labeling, closure, freeboard, and containment compliance.
- Transfer hazardous waste from satellite accumulation areas to central accumulation areas as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field + 1-3 years experience (preferred)
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma preferred
- 3-5 years experience in industrial maintenance
- Experience working on Pumps, motors, compressors, and conducting pipe fitting is required (Welding and a certifcate in weding is preferred)
- Strong integrity and personal accountability
- Excellent organizational and teamwork skills
- Experience in chemical, refinery, or manufacturing industries (preferred)
- The National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) testing is required for all hourly applicants of Nutrien. Applicants must complete this test and meet a minimum of 4 in Graphic Literacy, 5 on Applied Mathematics and 5 on Workplace Documents in order to be considered eligible for employment with Nutrien
- The National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) must be uploaded with your resume during your application to be considered eligible for employment with Nutrien.
