Opportunity OverviewOur Sanitation Team in Aurora, CO is looking for a Sanitation Lead to join. This position is responsible for leading the general sanitation work. Sanitation workers clean up after production shifts by assisting with the breaking down the production equipment, scrub, scrape, wash and sanitize to perfect sanitary conditions, all within the normal two hour down periods. This position is also responsible for understanding related Quality Management Systems including SQF, HACCP, and GMP to ensure safety and quality of employees and products.
The job duties include responsibility for assuring food safety and for food quality for Dessert Holdings products. A supervisor or other person of authority should be notified if any issues or threats to food safety or food quality are observed.
- Responsible for performing tasks as described and assigned by department lead/supervisor.
- Must be able to multi task with minimal supervision.
- Must work as a team player, ensuring cleaning specifications are achieved and in safe/ efficient manner.
- Effectively communicate with other departments.
- Must follow company's GMPs, SOPs, plant rules, other policies and codes of conduct.
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Strive to satisfy requirements of both internal and external customers.
- Responsible for mixing chemicals in the shift.
- Responsible for assisting in the supervision of sanitation laborers.
- Assist Sanitation Supervisor with ongoing training.
- Understands the management of Quality Systems and is familiar with SQF, HACCP, and GMP practices which help ensure the safety within the workplace and the production of a safe and quality product(s).
- Position requires previous sanitation experience; prior chemical use exposure is a plus.
- Must have basic oral and written communication skills.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must have a flexible schedule to include working overtime and weekends if necessary.
- Must be able to read and write in either English or Spanish.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is expected to actively participate on the production floor.
- Use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to stand, reach, stoop, kneel or bend.
- Employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and is required to ask for assistance if weight is exceeded.
- Exposure to environmental changes (heat, cold, dampness, chemicals).
- Working conditions; manufacturing environment requiring strict work/safety rules approximately 100% of the time.
