Position Summary

The Production Supervisor will provide direct supervision to the RK Steel Fusion and Assembly Plant. Will oversee the scheduling, coordination, ensure proper and accurate training of employees, monitor the quality of work and address coordinate maintenance and issues. Production Supervisor will report to the RK Production Manager and manage the daily production operations, including process and procedure improvement activities, productivity, quality control and employee satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow with production summaries by shift.
  • Manages staff by requesting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies and procedures. Provide guidance and direction to the production floor personnel.
  • Develop and maintain training programs in conjunction with the Production Manager to ensure that all personnel have the necessary skills to perform their duties safely and productively.
  • Coordinate daily production floor activities and delegate assignments to production personnel.
  • Communicate clear expectations to production personnel, keep them informed of matters pertaining to their job, and develop personnel growth opportunities.
  • Monitor employee work performance relative to expectations.
  • Ensure material is supplied to the workstations quickly and efficiently.
  • Monitor and enforce safety policies.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times by educating and directing personnel.
  • Implement and drive continuous improvement activities through implementation of change management process and best practices.
  • Document and ensure any required corrective measures are addressed and implemented.
  • Ensure equipment and tools are in good working order and available for use when required.
  • Ensure all stations are producing product to the company’s quality standards.
  • Continuously evaluate and influence efficiencies in processes and layout along with material workflow for increased throughput and productivity.
  • Monitor and manage schedule with work start, break, and stop times of the production floor personnel.
  • Monitor and enforce cell phone prohibition of the production floor personnel.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with fast changing priorities and management.
  • Implement manufacturing processes and procedures for new products and customers.
Accountability
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • All employees are accountable for safety and health and are empowered to stop work if an unsafe condition is present. Employees should immediately notify their supervisor so that the hazard may be corrected.
Minimum

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry 51 to 75 lbs. occasionally, and/or 31 to 45 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 16 to 22 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Ability to see (naturally or with correction).
  • Ability to use arms and hands to reach, handle or manipulate and install heavy objects and materials.
  • Ability to balance, kneel, squat, crouch, bend, lean, stand, walk, climb, dig, backfill and compact.
Qualifications
  • Advanced Microsoft Office 2010 and computer skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced high-volume environment with little direction.
  • Strong supervisory and management skills;
    Strong leadership skills;
    Good training skills.
  • Strong knowledge of plant and manufacturing operations required.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing production is preferred.
  • Knowledge of lean principals, raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Makes decisions independently regarding complexities and methods.
