MRP is searching for a passionate and agile Folder/Gluer Operator who has folder/gluer experience in folding carton. The role includes setting up and running the folder/gluer machine to produce cartons that meet customer specifications, maintaining equipment, tracking production schedules, giving special instructions to packers, entering job information into the Radius computer program, and communicating with QA and the Finishing Lead/Manager.
Responsibilities- Read and understand work instructions in job ticket / job bag.
- Follow production schedule.
- Perform duties such as locating stock, loads, loading and stacking according to size, shape and quantity to support machine efficiency.
- Keep the machine and surrounding area clean and free of debris or hazards.
- Perform weekly/monthly TPM tasks and report any broken or worn parts on the folder/gluer machine to lead or manager.
- Operate the folder/gluer machine to produce products that conform to Mill Rock's quality specifications.
- Work around equipment and use tools to set up the folder/gluer machine.
- Run initial quantities after setting up to demonstrate production capability.
- Perform quality checks as required and report non‑conforming cartons to Finishing Manager.
- Meet monthly and quarterly efficiency goals by exceeding established production and quality standards.
- Language skills – Ability to read and comprehend instructions in English; verbal and written communication.
- Mathematical skills – Add, subtract, multiply, divide using whole numbers, fractions and decimals; compute rate, ratio and percent.
- Reasoning ability – Apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Computer skills – Basic skills to read work instructions, record job data, follow schedule and communicate via email.
- Technical capacity – Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Teamwork oriented – Flexible, adaptable and team‑oriented.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Perform a variety of tasks in a fast‑paced environment and respond to continually changing priorities.
- High school diploma, GED, or 3–5 years of consistent experience with folding equipment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Folding carton and SFL carton industry experience.
- Experience with one of the following machines:
- Borst Expert fold folder/gluer machine
- Borst Fuego folder/gluer
- American International Signature folder/gluer
- Alpina folder/gluer
- Domino folder/gluer
- Standing/Walking – Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–12 hours per shift).
- Lifting/Carrying – Regularly lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
- Repetitive Motions – Frequent use of hands and arms for machine operation and material handling.
- Visual/Manual – Read gauges, measure materials and perform quality checks.
- Temperature – Work performed in a manufacturing environment with seasonal temperature variations.
- Noise – Exposure to moderate to high noise levels; hearing protection provided.
- Safety Gear – Personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and gloves.
- Other Factors – Occasional exposure to dust, ink or chemicals used in production.
Full‑time position. Standard schedule: 1st shift (4:00 AM – 2:00 PM), 2nd shift (2:00 PM – 12:00 AM). Monday through Thursday with occasional overtime as needed.
