Production Lead (Food Manufacturing Plant)

Location:

Aurora, CO. 1st Shift – 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM.

Starting wage: $20.60 per hour.

The Production Lead is responsible for overseeing and producing safe, high‑quality food in accordance with production standards and within required time frames. This role ensures food safety and quality, compliance with Quality Management Systems (SQF, HACCP, GMP), and accurate production record‑keeping.

• Lead and provide direction to up to 40 people at one time.
• Give direction with urgency to the production line.
• Operate all equipment within assigned area of responsibility.
• Read all product formulas, temperatures, and times per building sheets and Bill of Materials.
• Report and track waste, actively reducing waste in accordance with company goals.
• Follow the Supervisor’s instructions and communicate them effectively to the line.
• Understand the significance of downtime on the production floor.
• Improve and create more efficiency on the line while keeping safety a top priority.
• Understand mechanized equipment and associated dangers.
• Multitask and remain detail oriented.
• Maintain production records in a timely manner.
• Populate production reports and logs daily.
• Inspect and sign off on all production labels when necessary.
• Learn and apply First In/First Out rotation.
• Inform Production Supervisors of break and lunch schedules.
• Demonstrate ability to meet production standards on specific assignments within required time.
• Display appropriate work ethics for a positive influence on the production floor.
• Maintain good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned space.
• Perform assignments per established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Ensure all work is performed according to specifications, instructions, and requirements.
• Follow the production dress code standards and maintain good personal hygiene.
• Be responsible for food safety and food quality throughout production.
• Notify a Supervisor or Manager when stepping off the line to ensure food safety and quality standards are maintained.
• Understand quality system management and be familiar with SQF, HACCP, and GMP practices.
• Perform other duties as required by Supervisor or Manager.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.

• Reliable transportation and ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Willingness to work overtime, including weekends if necessary.
• Proficient in reading and writing in either English or Spanish.
• Understanding of basic mathematical concepts.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team environment.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to stay focused in a loud working environment.
• Demonstrated compliance with strict safety rules 100% of the time in a manufacturing setting.
