Position:
Associate Director – Chief Engineer, AF DCGS High Band Mission Applications Software (HBMAS) Sustainment and Development Program
Location:
Aurora, CO, United States
Salary Range: $157,200 – $298,800 (USD)
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the program’s top technical authority and be accountable for technical cost and schedule.
- Own and maintain the system architecture, cloud strategy, modernization roadmap, and the technical baseline.
- Guide iterative Agile development, including sprint reviews, backlog prioritization, and PI planning sessions.
- Direct engineering execution across software development, systems engineering, cyber engineering, Dev Sec Ops , test/QA, design support, and field services.
- Lead customer‑facing technical discussions, architecture reviews, and continuous coordination with AF DCGS engineering and operations teams.
- Oversee requirements, design, integration, verification, deployment, and sustainment activities.
- Manage program‑level technical risks, opportunities, and performance measures.
- Mentor senior engineers, architects, product owners, and discipline leads.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience or 10 years with an advanced degree in a related STEM field.
- Expertise in software‑intensive systems, cloud architectures, secure data workflows, cyber engineering, and Dev Sec Ops .
- Experience with classified operational systems and the DoD 8570 IAT‑II certification (Security+ or higher).
- Active, transferable TS/SCI clearance required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Preferred:
Experience with AF DCGS or ISR mission systems, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, or rapid capability fielding. - Strong communication skills and ability to align technical execution with evolving customer needs.
