Principal Systems Engineer – Control Account Manager
Location:
Aurora, CO (on‑site). Security clearance:
Active Top Secret required. U.S. citizenship required.
- Serve as the cost, schedule, and technical performance owner for assigned control accounts.
- Support Earned Value Management System (EVMS) implementation and execution, including cost and schedule variance analysis, Estimate at Completion (EAC) updates, and baseline change control.
- Collaborate with program management and engineering teams to ensure alignment of scope, schedule, and budget.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities in program performance and recommend corrective actions.
- Use data‑driven insights, performance metrics, and forecasts to support decision‑making and course correction strategies.
- Lead root‑cause analyses and implement process improvements that drive efficiency and program success.
- Work closely with Integrated Product Team leads and cross‑functional stakeholders to provide a holistic view of program execution.
- Prepare and present financial and performance data to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with internal policies and government regulations.
- Contribute to development of all EVM‑related deliverables and associated program performance metrics, including Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs) and Government Surveillance Reviews, and work toward EVMS certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 8+ years of relevant experience in program management, project control, or CAM roles.
- Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and related tools (Planning/Scheduling, IMP/IMS, Risk Management, Financial Forecasts or EAC).
- Experience with metrics and forecasting tools to monitor performance and support decision‑making.
- Experience with Agile or hybrid program execution models.
- Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued Top Secret security clearance required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Preferred:
Experience serving as a Scrum Master or similar Agile leadership role. - Preferred:
Experience with Agile software development using the Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence). - Preferred:
Experience supporting complex satellite ground systems, especially command‑and‑control functionality. - Preferred:
Systems, Test, or Software Engineering experience on large‑scale government software development contracts.
- Competitive salary range: $107,500 – $204,500 USD.
