Immunization Education & Outreach Coordinator VISTA

Immunize Colorado is a statewide 501(c)3 nonprofit which works to protect Colorado families and communities from vaccine-preventable disease. Our Ameri Corps VISTA program, the Colorado Immunity Corps ("CO-mmunity Corps"), aims to advance and promote vaccine delivery and knowledge in communities across the state. Up to eight Ameri Corps VISTA members at a time will complete a full-time year of national service at local public health agencies and community-based organizations across Colorado.

Our Members have served in many areas of the state, and the locations of available host sites varies by program year. The Ameri Corps VISTA Immunization Outreach and Education Coordinator(s) will work closely with community partners to promote access to primary care and improve vaccination rates through community-based clinics and education and outreach events. With support from host site staff and Immunize Colorado, each Member will be responsible for the organization, promotion, implementation and evaluation of these interventions.

Applicants should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently as well as on a team. Member Duties :
The Immunization Outreach and Education Coordinator will:
Develop partnerships with key community partners such as healthcare providers, pharmacies, school health personnel, community-based organizations and local public health professionals;
Recruit medical professionals, volunteers and subject matter experts to support immunization outreach and education events;
Create and promote marketing materials to event-specific audiences;
Understand and assess community needs and reevaluate or implement interventions ;
Attend required trainings and program team meetings;
Conduct follow-up activities for clinic and educational events;
Develop a community-specific framework for immunization stakeholder engagement;
Support immunization data activities for local public health agencies. Occasional miscellaneous duties, as assigned. Prior expertise in vaccination is NOT required.
